Coleccionistas de Monedas is a personal project devoted to spread the passion for coin collecting and numismatics.
Why this blog? My inspiration
The purpose of this blog is just to explain everything I have learned during the many years of passion for antique coins, both in buying and selling and in collecting. As I like to know what I buy and have as much information as possible, I have been studying and applying the advice of numismatic experts for quite some time.
Thanks to them I have achieved an important collection of old coins from the United States, Mexico, Spain and other countries, as well as many other coins for collection.
What this website offers
The aim of this website is none other than to provide information:
- Directly from
about old coins and their buying and selling value.
What coleccionistasdemonedas.com does not offer
This website is of an informational nature, so:
- I don’t buy coins or sell coins: I use other forums for that. The philosophy of this website is only 100% information.
- I don’t make appraisals: there are great professionals much more qualified than me. One of the purposes of this website is to facilitate free contact between coin holders and professional numismatic appraisers.
Why this website?
Always based on the work of those who know: experts in coin collecting and professionals in numismatics, I wanted to make an informational page about this complex world of ancient coins.
To gather the information required by a website of this type I have turned to many sources. However, I would like to point out the references that for me have been the most useful:
- Princeton University Numismatic Collection
- European Central Bank’s Coin Collection website
- Heritage Auctions
A final thought
I too have felt lost many times with a certain coin. I would have liked to have found information more simply and directly.
Therefore, because sometimes this world of coin collecting is a bit arid, this website aims to provide basic information essential to move through the world of old coins with the minimum knowledge required.
